Major J. C F Magnay

Maj J C F Magnay served with the Grenadier Guards. He began his Guards career in 1955, spending a year with 3rd Battalion before transferring to 1st Battalion in 1956, with whom he served for four years taking part in deployments to the Cameroon and Northern Europe as part of the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR).

From 1960, he moved to 2nd Battalion, Grenadier Guards and served in British Guiana, before joining No 1 Guards Independent Parachute Company in 1963. He served in the deployments to Borneo (earning the GSM) in two years service, before rejoining 1st Battalion, Grenadier Guards for the final three years of his Guards service.

He remains active in the veteran community, as part of the Guards Parachute Association.
