Driver Ivor R Harper

Ivor Raymond Harper was born and lived in Mutford, Suffolk, he enlisted into the Royal Army Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Driver Harper successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and was posted to 716 (Airborne) Light Composite Company, Royal Army Service Corps and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Dvr Harper was killed in action on 6 June 1944, aged 20, and was given a field burial at Le Bois de Villers and was re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France, on 9 October 1945.
