Rifleman Hugh Henry

24 Mar 1945

Hugh Henry was the son of Hugh and Mary Henry, of Crumlin, County Antrim, Northern Ireland and the husband of Margaret Henry. He enlisted in the Royal Ulster Rifles and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Rifleman Henry successfully completed glider training and was posted to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Rfn Henry was killed in action on 24 March 1945, aged 29. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
