Private Herbert P Swales

Herbert Phillip Swales is the son of Herbert and Miriam Swales, of Doncaster, Yorkshire.

He successfully completed his parachute training at Ringway on 9 June 1945. It was noted that Private Swales was a “hard working” jumper.

Pte Swales was posted to the Reserve Battalion before being posted to 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, to serve in Palestine.

He died on 5 September 1947 and is now buried in Khayat Beach War Cemetery, Israel.
