Private Henry A Lawlor

Henry Arthur Lawlor was the son of Robert Thomas and Susannah Runciman (Monks) Lawlor; husband of Florence Winifred (Jago) Lawlor, of Truro, Cornwall. Married 2 October 1943 in Truro. He enlisted in the Somerset Light Infantry and volunteered for Airborne Forces.

Private Lawlor successfully completed glider training and was posted to 12th (Airborne) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Pte Lawlor was killed in action on 24 March 1945, aged 32, and was given a field burial at Hamminkeln, Germany, and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 12 April 1947.
