Private Henry Harmes

Private Henry Harmes was the son of Joseph and Beatrice L Harmes, and husband of Mary Olive Harmes, of Penarth, Glamorgan. He served with 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment and took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

He died on 19 September 1944, aged 27 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
