Gunner Henry Booth

Henry Booth was the son of Bertha Booth, of Rye, Sussex. He enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Gunner Booth successfully completed glider training and was posted to A Troop, 1 Airlanding Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Gnr Booth was killed in action on 17 September 1944, aged 21, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
