Sergeant Hendry Burr

Sergeant Hendry Burr, son of Jane Warrander, of St. Fergus, Aberdeenshire, served as the Gun Commander of 26 Anti-Tank Platoon, Support Company, 1st Battalion, Border Regiment (Airborne). He took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

Sergeant Burr died on 18 September 1944, aged 23 years old. He was originally buried at Renkum General Cemetery, before being reinterred at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
