Sergeant Harold Edgar Doig was the son of Harold Edgar and Georgena Doig ,and husband of Emma Doig, of Wimbledon, Surrey. He served with B Troop, 1 Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery, Royal Artillery and took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Sergeant Doig died in the Battle between 20-21 September 1944, aged 29 years old. He was initially buried at Arnhem General Cemetery, before being reinterred at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
