Lance Corporal Arthur Horace Brian Allsopp served with 3 Inch Mortar Platoon, 2 PARA.

L/Cpl Allsopp died in a parachuting accident during Exercise "Quatre Bras 111" in the UK on 19 August 1955, aged 19 years.

OBITUARY

It is with deep regret that we record the death of L/Cpl Brian Allsopp following a parachuting accident on 19th August, 1955. L/Cpl. Allsopp joined the Platoon in August, 1954; during the months following he proved himself a popular member of the Platoon. His sense of humour and jovial spirit were part of everyday life in the Company. Those of us who worked with him learnt to appreciate his worth. When we learned of his death we felt we had lost a true friend, and to his bereaved mother goes our deepest sympathy.
