Sergeant Gordon S Allison

Gordon Stanley Allison was the son of William and Minnie Allison, of Surbiton, Surrey. He enlisted in the Royal Engineers and volunteered for airborne forces.

Sergeant Allison successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and also Glider Pilot training and was posted to E Squadron, The Glider Pilot Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Sgt Allison was killed in action between 24/25 September 1944, aged 23. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the Missing.
