Gordon Petrie McIvor Findlay from Grimsby enlisted into The Junior Parachute Company in 1966.

After passing P Company he was posted to 2 PARA.

He served as a Permanent Staff Instructor with B Company, 15th (Scottish Volunteer) Battalion in 1981, before going to The Falkland Islands on Operation Corporate.

32 year old Colour Sergeant Gordon Findlay, Company Quarter Master Sergeant of A Company, 2 PARA was killed on Wireless Ridge by 152mm enemy artillery fire during the advance to capture the first ridge.

C/Sgt 'Doc' Findlay is buried at Aldershot Military Cemetery.
