Lieutenant Gordon C Chicken

Gordon Chester Chicken was the son of W Norman and Sadie Chicken, of Bristol. He was granted a commission and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Lieutenant Chicken successfully completed glider training and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Lt Chicken was killed in action on 8 June 1944, aged 23, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
