Private George William Devonshire

25 Aug 1944

Private George William Devonshire was the son of Ernest and Florence Mary Devonshire of Horfield, Bristol. He served with the 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion in the Normandy Campaign. He was part of a group that liberated the village of Beuzeville from the Germans. 

Devonshire died on the 25th August 1944, aged 24. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery near Caen, Normandy.
