Private George Jenkins

George Jenkins enlisted into the East Surrey Regiment, and then volunteered for the airborne forces.

Private Jenkins qualified as a military parachutist on course 21/22 at RAF Ringway in August 1942, he was then posted to A Company, 2nd Parachute Battalion and took part in Operation Torch in North Africa.

Pte Jenkins was Killed in Action on 30 November 1942, age 30. He is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial.
