Corporal George Hodge, son of Robert and Mary Jane Hodge, of Sunderland, Co Durham, served with 4th Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Italian campaign in Autumn-Winter 1943.
Corporal Hodge died on 10 December 1943, aged 24 years old. He is now buried at Sangro River War Cemetery, near Taranto, Italy.
