Colonel George Hewetson started his military career with The Border Regiment.
He is first listed in the London Gazette as War Substantive Lt 19 June 1942; 4 Jan 1944 transferred from RAC to AAC with the rank of Capt;
22 November 1946 2lt Border Regt to Lt in AAC (PR) (War subst Major);
27 December 1946 to Major Border Regt.
He died in 1988
