Private George H Ellicock

George Henry Ellicock was born in Wakefield and lived in Bradford, he enlisted into The Green Howards and volunteered for airborne forces.

Private Ellicock successfully completed his Glider training and was posted to D Company, 1st (Airborne) Battalion, the Border Regiment. He took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Pte Ellicock died on 25 September 1944, aged 21. He is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial, for those with no known grave.
