Corporal George Carlton

Corporal George Carlton was the son of Thomas William and Mary Carlton, and husband of Harriet Alice Carlton, of Oswaldthistle, Accrington, Lancashire. He served with 7th (Airborne) Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers and took part in the Battle of Arnhem during Op Market Garden.

He died between 20-24th September 1944, aged 29 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
