Geoffrey Thomas Parker, son of Charles and Daisy Parker, of Chertsey, Surrey, enlisted in the Royal Engineers and volunteered for airborne forces.
Corporal Parker successfully completed Glider training and was posted to 1st Airborne Squadron (Royal Engineers).
Cpl Parker took part in Operation Doomsday. He died on 9 July 1945, aged 25, and is buried in Bergen (Mollendal) Church Cemetery, Norway.
