Staff Sergeant Geoffrey Lewis Binnington, son of Frederick and Lydia Binnington, of Sutton, Surrey, served with F Sqn, 2nd Wing Glider Pilot Regiment. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Staff Sergeant Binnington died on 25 September 1944, aged 27 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.

We were each given a remembrance cross with a poppy on it and our names we coupled to soldiers who lost their lives for us . We placed a remembrance cross by Geoffrey’s grave and thanked him . A humble moment
