Sergeant Frederick W Price

Frederick William Price, son of Frederick and Pollie Price; husband of Mary Jane Price, of Farnworth, Lancashire, enlisted into The Border Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.

Sergeant Price successfully completed his Glider training and was posted to S company 1st (Airborne) Battalion, The Border Regt. He took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Sgt Price died of wounds on 22 September 1944, aged 35. He was originally given a field burial in a mass grave 150 yards south of the Tafelberg Hotel and was reinterred to Arnhem War Cemetery on 3 September 1945.
