Driver Frederick W Parker

21 Jul 1913 - 06 Jun 1944

Frederick William Parker was the son of Frederick John Joseph and Minnie Kate (Foster) Parker, of Laindon, Essex; husband of Lilian Christine (Hope) Parker, married 29 September 1934, Laindon, Essex. He enlisted in the Royal Army Service Corps and volunteered for Airborne Forces.

Driver Parker successfully completed glider training and was posted to 398 (Airborne) Composite Company, Royal Army Service Corps, and took part in Operation Overlord (D Day landings).

Dvr Parker was killed in action on 6 June 1944, aged 31, and is commemorated on the Bayeux Memorial to the missing.
