Corporal Frederick A Sellers

Frederick Arthur Sellers was the son of Frederick and Eleanor Sellers, of Acton, Middlesex. He enlisted in the Royal Artillery and volunteered for airborne forces.

Corporal Sellers successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and also glider training. He was posted to HQ Airborne Troops Signals Section, Royal Corps of Signals, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Cpl Sellers was in a glider that crashed near the Dutch-Belgian border, between Mariekerke and Bornem, together with members of the 101st US Airborne Division Signals Company. All were killed. Corporal Sellers died, aged 30, and was buried in the St Amands Communal Cemetery, Belgium.
