Corporal Frederick J Boyce

Frederick James Boyce, enlisted into the Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry and volunteered for airborne forces.

Corporal Boyce successfully completed Glider training and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry. He took part in the 6th Airborne response to the German counter-offensive in the Ardennes, during Winter 1944-5.

Cpl Boyce was killed in action during the Battle of Bure on 4 January 1945. He was given a field burial in Bure, Tellin and later reinterred in Hotton War Cemetery on 22 May 1947.
