Sergeant Frederick Bell

Sergeant Frederick Bell was the son of James and Gertrude Bell, of Sherburn Hill, Co Durham, and the husband of Lily Bell, also of Sherburn Hill. He served with 12th (Yorkshire) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord on 5-6 June 1944.

Sergeant Bell died on 6 June 1944, aged 31 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
