Gunner Frank Thomas

Frank Thomas was the son of George Frederick and Victoria May Thomas, of Grimsby, Lincolnshire, he enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Gunner Thomas successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway, and also glider training and was posted to 4 Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery, Royal Artillery, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Gnr Thomas was killed in action on 7 August 1944, aged 23, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
