Corporal Frank Taylor

01 Sep 1913 - 24 Mar 1945

Frank Taylor was the son of James Henry and Emma May (Barker) Taylor, of Worcester, Worcestershire. He had four brothers and three sisters. He enlisted in the Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry and volunteered for airborne forces.

Corporal Taylor successfully completed glider training and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Cpl Taylor was killed in action on 24 March 1945, age 31, and was given a field burial at Hamminkeln, Germany, and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Germany on 21 March 1947.
