Lance Corporal Frank Hood

Frank Hood was the son of Albert Edward and Gladys Hood, he enlisted in the Durham Light Infantry.

Lance Corporal Hood successfully completed his glider training, and was attached to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, The Border Regiment and took part in operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

L/Cpl Hood was captured by the Germans and sent to Stalag XIIA, Limburg. He died on 29 October 1944, aged 21, and was buried in the Allied Military Cemetery Diez. He was reinterred to Rheinberg War Cemetery on 30 May 1947.
