Dvr F. RIPO was a passenger onboard Horsa CN69, Operation Tonga, D-Day night.
CN69 crash landed at Villers Sur Mer. the 2 pilots (S/Sgt M. BRAMAH and Sgt R. BARTLEY) and the 2 passengers (Dvr F.RIPO, Dvr i. HARPER) survived the crash. Francisco died in the evening 6th June 1944, when the group of 4 tried to joined others near Le Chateau de Villers.
Francisco was not formally identified amongst the casualties at Le Chateau de Villers, but he is very probably buried at Ranville War Cemetery.
