Lance Sergeant Francis S Lynn

Francis Stubbs Flynn was the son of John and Frances Flynn and the husband of Kathleen Flynn, of Ashstead, Surrey. He enlisted in the Royal Artillery and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Lance Sergeant Flynn successfully completed glider training and was posted to F Troop, 2 Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery, Royal Artillery, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

L/Sgt Flynn was killed in action on 19 September 1944, aged 33. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
