Rifleman Francis J Grady

Francis Joseph Grady was the son of Annie Grady, stepson of Tom Boscoe, of Warrington, Lanvashire, he enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Rifleman Grady successfully completed glider training and was posted to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Rfn Grady was killed in action on 24 March 1945, aged 19, and was given a field burial at Hamminkeln, Germany, and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 24 March 1947.
