Private Ernest J Parker

Ernest John Parker, son of Fanny Parker of Impington, Cambridgeshire, enlisted in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps and then volunteered for the airborne forces.

Private Parker attended parachute course 36 at RAF Ringway from 6 to 12 November 1942 and was then posted to S Company, 1st Battalion, the Parachute Regiment and took part in Operation Torch in North Africa.

Pte Parker was Killed in Action on 5 February 1943, aged 20. He is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial.
