Private Ernest Hill, son of Charles Henry and Alice Jane Hill, of Hampton Bishop, Herefordshire, served with 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Normandy campaign, during Op Overlord.
Private Hill died on 21 August 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
