Ernest Frederick Samson, son of Stafford R Samson and Elizabeth C Samson, of Edmonton, Middlesex, enlisted in the Suffolk Regiment and then volunteered for the airborne forces.
Pte Samson attended parachute course 37 at RAF Ringway from 13 to 27 November 1942 and was posted to 2nd Battalion the Parachute Regiment and took part in Operation Torch in North Africa.
Pte. Samson was Killed in Action on 18 March 1943, aged 20. He is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial.
