Eric Robinson enlisted in The Highland Regiment 8 October 1940 and is in the T&E book 05/23.
Eric then volunteered for the airborne forces and joined The 2nd Parachute Battalion. He was parachute jump trained at RAF Ringway on Course 16. This course ran from 22 to 29 June 1942. 3 officers and 95 other ranks participated. There was only 1 fatality during this training.
With The 2nd Para Bn he saw action in North Africa and was taken prisoner and imprisoned in Stalag 12A.
13 September 1945 he transferred to the ROAC.
