Major Edward V M Favell

Edward Vernon Molyneux Favell was the son of Richard Vernon and Alice Molyneux Favell, of Penberth, Cornwall. He was commissioned in the Ox and Bucks Light Infantry, and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Major Favell successfully completed glider training and was posted to Officer Commanding Support Company, 2nd (Airborne) Bn., Ox and Bucks Light Infantry and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Maj Favell was killed in action on 19 June 1944, aged 26, and was given a field burial at Breville and re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France, on 2 July 1945.
