Sergeant Edward G Hipkiss

Sergeant Edward George Hipkiss was the son of Joseph and Florence Hipkiss, and husband of Winifred Hipkiss, of Selly Oak, Birmingham. He served with 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord.

Sergeant Hipkiss died on 6 June 1944, aged 32 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Bayeux War Cemetery, Normandy.
