Rifleman David Stothers

24 Mar 1945

David Stothers was the son of Sarah Stothers, of Northern Ireland. He enlisted in Royal Ulster Rifles and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Rifleman Stothers successfully completed glider training and was posted to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Rfn Steele was killed on 24 March 1945, aged 25, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
