Parachutist David Lloyd

David Lloyd enlisted into B Company 12/13th Battalion (Yorkshire and Lancashire) The Parachute Regiment in June 1958.

Private Lloyd took part in the four day Nijmegen march in 1959, which consisted of marching 25 miles a day in full kit. He was commended by Captain Fox for completing the march with ‘the worst case of blisters’ he had ever seen.

Private Lloyd was discharged on 2 March 1962, having completed his National Service.

David Lloyd became involved with civilian skydiving clubs, and completed 15 jumps in England, before emigrating to Australia in 1971.

He is an active member of the Red Beret International Australian Paratroop Association.
