Sergeant Cyril Naylor

Cyril Naylor was the son of James and Doris Naylor, of Orpington, Kent. He enlisted in the Royal Artillery and volunteered for airborne forces.

Sergeant Naylor successfully completed Glider Pilot training and was posted to E Squadron, The Glider Pilot Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Sgt Naylor was killed in action whilst in a defensive position near Van Borsselenweg on 24 September 1944, aged 23. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the Missing.
