Private Colin M McWilliam

08 Nov 1942

Private Colin Mason McWilliam was the son of Benjamin and Florence May McWilliam. Records indicate he enlisted into the North Staffordshire Regiment or the King’s Royal Rifle Corps before volunteering for the Airborne Forces.

After completing initial training at Hardwick, he attended parachute training course 36 at RAF Ringway which started on 6 November 1942.

Sadly, Private McWilliam died as a result of a parachuting accident on 8 November 1942, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Manchester Southern Cemetery.
