Private Charles William Dalton

Private Charles William Dalton, son of Mr and Mrs C Dalton, of York, served with 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Border Regiment. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden. He volunteered for the airborne forces after having served with The Royal Tank Regiment (RTR). His profile picture was taken when he was a member of the RTR. 

He died of wounds on 27 September 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
