Charles Macfarlane was the son of Charles and Lillian Macfarlane; husband of Margaret Macfarlane, of Cryers Hill, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, he enlisted in the Royal Artillery and volunteered for airborne forces.
Trooper Macfarlane was posted to 1st Special Air Service Regiment, Army Air Corps.
Tpr Macfarlane was killed in action on 18 June 1944, aged 34, and is commemorated on the Bayeux Memorial to the missing.
