Sergeant Bertram G Worthington

Bertram Gordon Worthington was born in Middlesex and lived in West London. He enlisted in the Royal Fusiliers and volunteered for airborne forces.

Sergeant Worthington successfully completed Glider Pilot training and was posted to D Squadron, The Glider Pilot Regiment, and took part in the first lift, Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Sgt Worthington was killed in action between 17 and 25 September 1944, aged 27, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
