Driver Bernard T O'Loughnane

02 Feb 1918 - 07 Jun 1944

Bernard Thomas O’Loughnane was the son of Michael O’Loughnane Jnr and Ada Eliza (Blake) O’Loughnane, of south east London, he enlisted in the Royal Army Service Corps and volunteered for Airborne Forces.

Driver O’Loughnane successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway, and was posted to 63 (Airborne) Composite Company, Royal Army Service Corps, and took part in Operation Overlord (D Day landings).

Dvr O’Loughnane was killed in action on 7 June 1944, aged 26, and is commemorated on the Bayeux Memorial to the missing.
