Staff Sergeant Bernard A Cummins

Staff Sergeant Bernard Arthur Cummins was the son of Arthur and Ivy Cummins, and husband of Joyce Barbara Cummins, of St Leonards-on-Sea, Sussex.

He served with A Squadron, 2 Flight, 1st Wing Glider Pilot Regiment and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden after landing some 10 miles from his intended Landing Zone during the Lift.

Staff Sergeant Cummins died on 22 September 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
