Ben Huxley enlisted into The Parachute Regiment at Chester in August 1983.

Private Huxley Passed Out of P Company (Coy) with 503 Platoon on 30th November 1984 and was posted to The 1st Battalion The Parachute Regiment (1 PARA) and served in A and C Coys.

In 1992 Corporal Huxley was posted to 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (2 PARA). On Operation Banner (Northern Ireland) Sergeant Huxley was awarded a Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service in December 1997.

He then became an instructor at Platoon Sergeants Battle Course (PSBC) School of Infantry for two years. Returning to 2 PARA until 2000.

Company Quartermaster Sergeant (CQMS) Huxley was then posted as Jungle Warfare & Tracking Instructor at the Jungle Warfare Wing Brunei for two years.

In 2002 he was posted to the 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (3 PARA) and went on Operation Telic (Iraq) in 2003. He served in C and HQ Coy 3 PARA until promoted to Regimental Sergeant Major of 2 PARA in 2005.

Commissioned in 2006 Captain Huxley continued to serve in 2 PARA, going on Operation Herrick VIII in 2008.

Capt Huxley resigned his commission in 2009.
