Driver Arthur O Olsson

Arthur Olaf Olsson was the son of Charles and Ellen Olsson, of Wapping, London. He enlisted in Royal Army Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Driver Olsson successfully completed glider training and was posted to 3 Platoon, 250 (Airborne) Light Composite Company, Royal Army Service Corps, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Dvr Olsson was killed in an allied air raid at Thaerstrasse, Leipzigwhilst, on 27 February 1945, aged 31, whilst a PoW. He was originally buried at Leipzig East Cemetery and then re-interred on 24 May 1947 to Berlin 1939-45 War Cemetery.
