Private Arthur Mason

Arthur Mason, son of Robert and Elsie May Mason, of Bromyard, Herefordshire, enlisted in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and then volunteered for the airborne forces.

Private Mason attended parachute course 9 at RAF Ringway from 2 to 14 March 1942. He was posted to the Anti-Tank Platoon, 1st Battalion, the Parachute Regiment and took part in Operation Torch in North Africa.

Pte Mason was Killed in Action on 9 March 1943, aged 20. He is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial.
